We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Perfusion Technologist to join our healthcare team. As a Perfusion Technologist, you will be responsible for operating and managing heart-lung machines and other extracorporeal circulation equipment during cardiac surgeries and other medical procedures requiring cardiopulmonary bypass. You will work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other medical professionals to ensure the safe and effective management of a patient’s circulatory and respiratory functions while the heart is stopped or compromised. Your primary duties will include preparing and priming the heart-lung machine, monitoring patient vital signs, adjusting equipment settings, and administering blood products or medications as needed. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records of perfusion activities, troubleshooting equipment issues, and ensuring all devices are properly sterilized and maintained. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of human physiology, especially cardiovascular and respiratory systems, and be able to respond quickly and calmly in high-pressure situations. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team are essential. Perfusion Technologists play a critical role in patient care during complex surgical procedures such as open-heart surgery, organ transplants, and certain trauma cases. You may also be involved in extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) procedures and other advanced life-support techniques. This role requires a commitment to ongoing education and staying current with advances in perfusion technology and best practices. If you are passionate about making a difference in patient outcomes and thrive in a fast-paced, challenging environment, we encourage you to apply.
